SCHOOL BEYOND LIMITATIONS

Die Schule, die dein Kind wirklich versteht

When school
no longer works

When daily attendance becomes a struggle and school no longer feels like a constructive place for a child, continuing as before is often not the right option.

You are not overreacting

Many families reach out to us after months, sometimes years, of trying to make school work.

They have adjusted routines, reduced expectations, spoken to teachers, sought external support. …And still, the situation continues to deteriorate.

At that point, the question is no longer how to adapt — but whether the current school setting is still appropriate.

Situations we often see;

Persistent school anxiety or refusal

Emotional or psychological overload linked to school attendance

Gifted children experiencing constant friction within standard school structures

Children who appear outwardly functional, but are no longer coping internally

What other families say

As a family based in Germany, questions around compulsory schooling were one of our biggest concerns. The first conversation helped us understand our situation without feeling rushed into decisions.

Parent, Germany

Our child looked fine from the outside, but school had become emotionally exhausting.

What helped most was finally being taken seriously without drama.

Parent, Europe

We didn’t need promises. We needed someone to help us slow down and think clearly again.

That first conversation made a real difference.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this homeschooling?

No.

SBL is an accredited online school with qualified teachers and mentors, a physical school building for temporary in-person classes, and a full international community.

Do children actually make friends online?

Yes — especially when online learning is combined with Residential Weeks and year-round community activities.

Is this suitable for families living in Germany?

School attendance laws are an important consideration for many families.

Questions around compulsory schooling are addressed individually during the introductory conversation, based on each family’s specific situation.

Is SBL a recognised school?

Yes. SBL is an online school accredited by Pearson and operates within recognised educational frameworks.

Our programmes are delivered by qualified teachers and follow a structured curriculum. We prepare our students for the diploma that they aim to complete. Generally speaking we prepare them for the international GCSEs and the international AS and A-Levels. Since we support our students individually it is possible for them to achieve their individual goals accordingly.

Recognition and accreditation details can be discussed during the introductory conversation, based on each family’s country of residence and individual situation.

Do parents pay school fees?

Yes. SBL is funded through school fees paid by families.

These fees allow us to employ highly qualified teachers, dedicated mentors and in-house educational psychological support, maintain small live learning groups, and offer a stable international community with both online and in-person elements.

We know that financial considerations are part of many families’ decision-making — especially in situations of pressure.

Questions around fees and what they cover can be discussed openly during the introductory conversation.

Do we need to decide anything during the call?

No. The call is purely exploratory and informational.
